Bengaluru, June 29: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa said that the budget to be presented by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy would not have any sanctity.

Inaugurating the party Executive Committee meeting at the Palace Ground in the city on Friday, Yeddyurappa said that just getting 38 seats in the Assembly election, the JDS has come to power by chance. In the history of the country, a political party which got the third place in the election would be presenting the Budget which is a tragedy. Moreover, Coordination Committee Chairman and Congress Legislative Party chairman Siddaramaiah himself had opposed the budget, he said.

Yeddyurappa said that while speaking about the failures of the coalition government in the state, the party leaders should be very careful. He would not tolerate any situation which embarrasses the party. “The coalition government will not complete five years term. Instead of gaining the advantage of the situation, we have to wait patiently for the people’s mandate. Already, both the parties have been involving in mudslinging activity. We should not destabilize the government”, he said.

Though the people have given more seats, the party did not get the complete majority to form the government. The party candidates were defeated within the margin of 2000-3000 votes in over 15 constituencies. Now, the reasons for such defeats should be introspected. For the first time, the Supreme Court had directed a government to prove its majority in the Floor within 24 hours. If there was a time, many MLAs of the Congress and JDS were ready to come to BJP. But the party workers should not be disheartened, he said.

BJP state incharge Muralidhar Rao said that though the people have not given the majority, they have given the mandate to the party. Keeping the programmes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was planned to win at least 25 seats in the Lok Sabha election. The Congress-JDS coalition government would not complete five years. The BJP would get good time, he said.

Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and Ramesh Jigajinagi, BJP leaders R Ashok, Jagadeesh Shettar, Govind Karajola, Shobha Karandlaje, Sriramulu and others were present.

DK Shivakumar demanding commission: BSY

Yeddyurappa said that Water Resource Minister DK Shivakumar was putting pressure on the contractors for commission to clear the bills of the irrigation projects saying that he was not responsible for the previous government and the commission. But now he was the minister and wanted commission, he said.
