Chikkamagaluru: The Bhadra River is flowing above the danger mark following the heavy rain that is lashing Chikkamagaluru since Friday.

There is a possibility of sinking in the Hebbale Bridge that is constructed across the Bhadra River near Horanadu. If the bridge gets submerged, the vehicular movement between Kalasa and Horanadu will have to be disrupted.

The water flow in the Bhadra River has increased after the continuous rainfall in and around Kudremukh, Kalasa, and Horanadu on Friday night.

The incessant rain, which has thrown normal life out of danger, has disrupted traffic movement and electricity supply as well.

Puducherry (PTI): Voting for the 30 Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of Puducherry concluded at 6 pm on Thursday while people who arrived before the deadline were allowed to wait in queues and cast their votes, officials said.

According to initial estimates, the polling percentage has crossed 86 per cent, they said.

As the NDA is fighting to retain power, the opposition Congress-led bloc is pushing to wrest power from the AINRC-led front in the union territory, centering its campaign on local autonomy and administrative friction.
