Hindu fundamentalists are behind murder of progressive people: Prof
Mysuru, June 13: Progressive thinker Prof Mahesh Chandra Guru alleged that the Hindu fundamentalists have their role in the murder of progressive people.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in the city on Wednesday, Prof Guru said that the central government has indirectly supported the killings of MM Kalburgi, Gauri Lankesh, Dabholkar and Pansare. After NDA took over the regime in the country, progressive writers and thinkers were targeted, he said.
Those who killed Gauri, might have killed Kalburgi, Dabholkar and Pansare. It was the handi-work of Hindu fundamentalists. There could be Pramod Mutalik of Sri Rama Sene or there could be some Hindu organizations which have been propagating Hindutva ideology. Lok Sabha Members Pratap Simha, Shobha Karandlaje, Naleen Kumar Kateel are fools. They might have relationship with the suspected killers of Gauri Lankesh, he said.
He did not apply for police security. But the government itself has given the police security, he said.

Man rapes 13-year-old stepdaughter in Beed; booked
Beed, Apr 13 (PTI): A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her stepfather in Maharashtra's Beed district, police said on Monday.
Based on a complaint, the police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with the incident, which occurred on April 9, an official said.
According to police, the teen's mother divorced her first husband nine years ago and married the accused, with whom she has a son.
On the afternoon of April 9, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted his stepdaughter while his wife was away and threatened her into silence, the official said.
He said that the assault came to light when the mother returned home and noticed a change in her daughter's behaviour and questioned her. The girl narrated the ordeal, following which a complaint was lodged at the Kaij police station.
