Hubballi: The body of a 29-year-old man was found stuffed inside a bag and dumped along the national highway near the ITC godown on Gadag Road under the Hubballi Rural Police Station limits early Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunatha, a native of Bandiwada. The matter came to light when a passerby noticed a suspicious bag lying by the roadside and alerted the police.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the youth may have been murdered elsewhere, with the body later placed inside a bag and dumped on the highway.

Police arrived at the spot, shifted the body to KIMS Hospital for post-mortem examination, and initiated an investigation. The motive behind the suspected murder and the identity of those involved are yet to be ascertained.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and probing all possible angles, including previous rivalry or personal enmity.

Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it will target US technology companies operating in the region, urging employees and nearby residents to evacuate immediately.

In a statement carried by Iran’s Tasnim news agency, the IRGC said, “Since the main element in designing and tracking terrorist targets are American and ICT and AI companies … from now on, [these] main institutions will be our legitimate targets.”

The statement added that more than 15 companies could be targeted, including Boeing, Tesla, Meta, Google and Apple.

The IRGC said the action would begin from 8pm local time tomorrow if further Iranian leaders are killed in what it described as “targeted assassinations”.

There has been no immediate response from the companies named or from US authorities.

The warning marks a significant escalation, expanding potential targets beyond military and energy infrastructure to include major global technology firms.
