Implement ‘Ayushman Bharat - Arogya Karnataka’ together: Health Minister
Bengaluru, June 20: Health and Family Welfare Minister Shivanand Patil said that as the Arogya Karnataka of the state government and Ayushman Bharat of the central government proposed to be implemented on August 15 are same kind of health schemes, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has asked the department to implement them together.
Speaking to reporters at Vikasa Soudha here on Wednesday, he said that to make sure that merger of these two schemes should create confusion, the government has decided to continue Yashaswini scheme further three more months, he said.
As the advertisements were given in local newspapers on Arogya Karnataka cards, people were not aware of the programme. So, it was decided to take up campaigning in state level with an intention of reaching more people. It was decided to give priority to Antyodaya and BPL card holders, he said.
Regarding fixing of fees on services available in private hospitals, both the government and the private hospitals have failed to come to a conclusion. Out of 800 private hospitals, only 450 hospitals have agreed for the government proposal and remaining 350 hospitals have not yet agreed, he said.
There are six organizations representing these private hospitals and he would hold a meeting with the representatives of those organizations either on June 27 or 28 and solve the problem. There is provision to constitute a committee under KPME Act on price fixation, he added.

Ahead of Ambedkar Jayanti, Beed police take action against 11 bootleggers
Beed (PTI): Police in Maharashtra’s Beed district have banned 11 habitual offenders involved in the illegal sale of liquor from entering a few areas in view of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, an official said on Sunday.
These individuals have been barred from entering the jurisdiction of Pethbeed police station and the broader Beed tehsil during Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, he said.
Following a review of the security situation, an official order was passed to restrict the movement of 11 on-record criminals to prevent any untoward incidents or disruption of peace during the festivities, police said.
The alleged bootleggers have been served with notices, warning that they will face stringent legal action if they are found within the prohibited jurisdiction during the specified period, the official added.
