Bengaluru: Bengaluru South’s Constituency’s Congress candidate B K Hariprasad on Sunday said that he was not entitled to respond to other’s criticism and that his fight is to save constitution and against reservations.
Speaking at a media conference organized by the Bangalore Press and Reporters' Association on Sunday, he said that the country was going into its second freedom movement.
“BJP candidate who will contest against me has not criticized me nor has he made any personal attack on me. Neither have I done so” he said.
“My fight is to save constitution, save democracy and constitutional institution. BJP candidate from Uttara Pradesh says that if Modi wins this election, there will be no election in this country again. This clearly puts democracy in danger. They want to bring dictatorship in the country and we need to fight against this”.
“I was asked to contest from Bengaluru south to contest against PM Modi as it was being said Modi will be contesting from this constituency. But later Modi did not contest from here. I was to contest from Khammam, I had been to file my nominations from there. But Congress high command called me back from there and asked me to contest against Modi here”
“Saying that BJP has eradicated terrorism from the country will be stupidity. If terrorism has eradicated under BJP then why attacks like Pathankot Air base, Uri Attack and latest Pulwama attack wouldn’t have happened” asked who was responsible for these attacks former minister blamed Modi and said “Modi goes to Pakistan upon the invitation of its PM and eat Biryani there, he invites Pakistan’s PM for his swearing-in ceremony. Nobody knows which class he belongs to”.
Speaking about the developmental plans he will bring in if he wins the election, Hariprasad said “My dream is to bring back the old glory of this city. I will construct four parks in four corners of the constituency excluding Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh. We are already working in this regard. Another major problem in the city is that of drinking water, we have plans of constructing a dam at Mekedatu to resolve this issue of drinking water. We will try and get help from Central government for this project”.
Challenging PM Modi to face media through a press conference on his achievements Hariprasad added “PM Modi is scared to come infront of media and addressing a press conference because he has failed all his promises he made before previous election. I challenge him to address media for 15 minutes in a press conference on his achievement in last five years. For 15 minutes he will blame Nehru family, for next 15 minutes he will blame Congress government and for another 15 minutes he will speak about soldiers, army and other emotional topics”.
Speaking of Congress JD(S) coalition he said “I have good relationship with JD(S) supremo HD Devegowda. I also got his blessings. Looking at the condition of this constituency, people have assured me of victory here and our party’s base is also quite strong in the constituency so I am confident of winning from here”.

Mangaluru: A unique chessboard made entirely from beeswax has earned Prajwal M, a beekeeper from Kinnigoli near Mangaluru, a place in the India Book of Records.
According to a report published by The Times of India on Wednesday, the handmade beeswax chessboard was showcased at a state-level agricultural exhibition held at the University of Agricultural Sciences (GKVK), Bengaluru, last month. The exhibit attracted widespread attention for its creativity and eco-friendly design.
"The beeswax chessboard measuring 20cm by 26cm works like any other chessboard. The only condition is that it should not be exposed to heat," as a full-time beekeeper and founder of Coastal Honey Bee Farm, I have been experimenting with various value-added products from beeswax and honey," TOI quoted Prajwal as saying.

Prajwal, who runs the Coastal Honey Bee Farm reportedly said, he has been experimenting with value-added products made from honey and beeswax. An MBA graduate, Prajwal took up beekeeping during Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the idea for the chessboard came after he won a state-level award in October, following which he was invited to display an innovative product at the GKVK exhibition.
Initially, I thought of creating a statue, but I realised it would not be possible to complete it within four days. That is when the idea of making a chessboard struck me. Later, I was told that this is the first chessboard of its kind in India, he said.
As per the report, a native of Talipadi village in Dakshina Kannada district, Prajwal is the son of Sunita and Madhava Shettigar. Apart from the chessboard, he has developed over 25 value-added products, including skincare items, kajal, dry fruit honey and other honey-based products. He is also involved in training programmes for aspiring beekeepers and conducts awareness sessions for schoolchildren.
In recognition of his efforts, Prajwal was conferred the state-level Young Beekeeper Award earlier this year. He hopes to commercially introduce the chessboard soon.
