Bengaluru, July 05: The coastal region was completely neglected in the maiden budget of the JDS-Congress coalition government presented by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. However, Hassan, Ramanagar and Mandya districts were given priority in the budget.

CM Kumaraswamy who started his budget at 11.30 am, concluded it at 1.18 pm. Close on the heels finishing the budget presentation, BJP MLAs expressed their resentment against it. Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar accused it as the budget of Hassan, Mandya and Ramanagara districts and not the Karnataka budget. He cut the funds of all departments, he alleged.

Former chief minister and BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa said that it was the budget of brothers and insulted the people of the land.

KS Eshwarappa said that the government has cheated the people of all classes in the budget. No sufficient grant was given for the welfare of the backward classes, he said.

Ministers UT Khader and Zameer Ahmed Khan have expressed their anger in front of the Chief Minister for not earmarking funds for the development of the minorities in the budget. But it is said that the Chief Minister has promised them of looking into it in the next budget. Even the Congress MLAs expressed their dissatisfaction about the budget for neglecting the North Karnataka.
