Kalaburagi: Dr. Syed Shah Khusro Hussaini (79), a distinguished scholar, the head of Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz (RA) Dargah, Kalyana Karnataka's famous Sufi shrine, and Chancellor of K.B.N. University, has passed away.
Dr. Khusro Hussaini was a key figure in the Chishti and Sufi traditions and was the 23rd direct descendant of the revered Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz (RA). He was widely respected not only for his deep spirituality but also for his intellectual contributions.
As an academic expert advocate, he served as the Chancellor of KBN University. Acting as a bridge between modern technology and the Sufi tradition, he organised conferences and events across the country to introduce the Sufi heritage to the current generation. Through his spiritually enriched life, he continued the legacy of his ancestors.
Dr. Khusro Hussaini's demise has created an irreplaceable void for his countless followers and the Sufi community. He is survived by two sons, three daughters, and a large extended family.
The funeral will take place today at 6 PM in the premises of Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Dargah, with special prayers.

Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has delivered a remarkable performance in the Maharashtra assembly elections, achieving an 84% strike rate as part of the Mahayuti alliance.
The other allies in the alliance, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP - Ajit Pawar faction) and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, have also performed strongly, recording strike rates of 62% and 71%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Devendra Fadnavis, and congratulated him over the performance of the party.
As of 11:58 AM, the BJP is leading in 127 constituencies, while Shiv Sena and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) are ahead in 56 and 38 seats, respectively.
