Bengaluru: The English examination for II PUC, which was postponed due to lockdown, is to be conducted across the state on Thursday, in spite of widespread fear about the spread of Corona.
There are 1,016 centers for 5.95 lakh students to take the examination. The Department of Pre-University Education has taken precautionary measures to ensure that the health of the students is not affected. Every student has been asked to wear masks and clean their hands with sanitizer. The students will be made to maintain social distance inside the exam halls.
Thermal scanning of the students before they enter the examination centers has been made mandatory. Students who show symptoms of infection will be provided a separate room for the exam.
The Department has taken steps to respond to students who had applied for a change in the examination centers. The students may consult the website www.puc.kar.in for details of their new examination centers. They will also have to get a printed copy of the details of the change along with the hall ticket issued for the earlier center to the new center.
Free transport service is provided for the students to reach the examination centers and return home safely by the Transport Department. The students may avail of the facility by showing their hall tickets.

Jaipur (PTI): Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday expressed concern over the reported attacks and disruptions in prayer gatherings of the Christian community in different parts of the country, saying such incidents were "worrying and condemnable".
In a post on X, Gehlot said that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting a church and giving a message of peace and harmony, news of attacks on members of the Christian community from various regions reflected a serious contradiction.

"Symbolic gestures would not be enough, and strict legal action was required against those spreading hatred," the senior Congress leader said.
He added that Indian culture has always upheld the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", where every citizen has full freedom to practise their faith.
Gehlot urged the Centre and state governments to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no citizen is forced to celebrate their festival under fear.
