Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa on Saturday welcomed the Supreme Court’s order in the historic Ram Janma Bhoomi case.

Yediyurappa took to twitter from his official handle and asked people to accept it wholeheartedly without reacting emotionally.

Yediyurappa further noted that the order is not a victory for any party nor defeat to any of the parties involved in the case. He called for peace and harmony to prevail in the country.

“Let us all wholeheartedly welcome the apex court verdict. This is neither a victory for anyone, nor a defeat for anyone. Don’t react emotionally. Let the harmony and peace prevail.” Yediyurappa wrote.

Shivamogga: A 17-year-old student from Kamakshi Street in the city, Prem Kumar, died of drowning while swimming in River Tunga in Pillangiri village of the taluk recently.

Prem, who was studying in II PUC at DVS College, was visiting the temple in Pillangiri with his friends and got into the river for a swim, when he drowned in the waters of the river.

The youngster’s body has been sent to the mortuary of the McGann Hospital in Shivamogga to conduct a post-mortem examination.

Shivamogga Rural Police visited the spot and held an inspection.
