Karnataka: Government announces 4.75% hike in Dearness Allowance of employees
Bengaluru: Finance Department of Karnataka Government on Saturday issued orders announcing a 4.75% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees ahead of Diwali. According to the order, the hike will enhance the existing 6.50% DA to 11.25% of the basic pay.
The hike will come into retrospective starting July 1, 2019 and will be applicable to full-time government employees, Zilla Panchayath staff, employees of aided educational institutions and universities across the state.
The order issued on Saturday also stated that the hike will also be applicable to the pensioners.

Rajsthan Royals beat Punjab Kings by 6 wickets
Mullanpur (PTI): Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets in their Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.
Invited to bat, opener Prabhsimran Singh scored 59 up front while Marcus Stoinis provided the final flourish with an unbeaten 62 off 22 balls as Punjab Kings posted 222 for 4.
The Royals then put up a collective batting effort to overhaul the target with four balls to spare.
Earlier, leg spinner Yash Punja picked up two wickets for the visitors.
