Bengaluru: The people in the state who are waiting for results of the assembly polls will have to face a hike in power tariff, petrol and diesel prices.

Petrol price has been up by 17 paise per liter and diesel by 21 paise per liter. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has given people of the state a shock of hike in power tariff.

KERC president MK Shankarlinge Gowda published the details of electricity price hike Monday. Electricity price is increased by 82 to 1.62 ps. per unit in the state's five power transmission corporations.

The revised power rate has been implemented from April 1. Here are the details of the increase in power tariffs in the five power transmission corporations across the state.

 

* BESCOM: 82 paise (13 percent)

 * MESCOM: Rs. (19%)

 * CESC: Rs 1.13 (18 per cent)

 * HESCOM: 1.23 Rs. (19%)

 * GESCOM: Rs 1.62 (26%)

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.

Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.

 

Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
