Bengaluru: Karnataka on Monday once again registered over 300 fresh cases of Corona Virus in a single-day as it recorded 308 new cases of the virus between Sunday 5 pm and Monday at 5 pm. With this, the total number of cases in the state has climbed up to 5,760.
Bengaluru Urban District also recorded three deaths due to the virus which has taken the toll of death in the state due to virus to 64, health bulletin issued by Health and Family Welfare Department on Monday evening informed.
Kalaburagi on Monday reported 99 new cases of the virus, Yadgiri reported 66, Bidar 48, Udupi 45, Bengaluru Urban 18, Bellary 8, Gadag 6 Shivmoga and Dharwad four each, Dakshina Kannada and Hassan three each, Bagalkote 2, Koppal and Ramnagar one each were the other districts that recorded new COVID-19 cases on Monday.
In Bengaluru Urban, a 65-year old woman who was admitted to a private hospital due to breathing problems on June 5, died at the hospital and has tested positive for the virus. Another 48-year old woman in the District who was admitted to a hospital due to fever and breathing problems had died on June 5, and her reports have returned positive for Coronavirus.
In the third case of COVID death in a single day at Bengaluru Urban, a 67-year old man who was admitted to a hospital on June 4 for a heart-related ailment, died on June 8.
The bulletin also reported that the state saw 387 people recover in a single-day who were discharged from the hospital.
Of the 5,760 cases reported in the state so far, 2,519 patients have recovered from the virus while 64 patients succumbed and died after transmitting the deadly virus. The state currently has 3175 known active cases.

Jaipur (PTI): Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday expressed concern over the reported attacks and disruptions in prayer gatherings of the Christian community in different parts of the country, saying such incidents were "worrying and condemnable".
In a post on X, Gehlot said that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting a church and giving a message of peace and harmony, news of attacks on members of the Christian community from various regions reflected a serious contradiction.

"Symbolic gestures would not be enough, and strict legal action was required against those spreading hatred," the senior Congress leader said.
He added that Indian culture has always upheld the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", where every citizen has full freedom to practise their faith.
Gehlot urged the Centre and state governments to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no citizen is forced to celebrate their festival under fear.
