Cong-JD(S) alliance Candidate from Bengaluru North Constituency Krishna Byre Gowda on Sunday slammed Narendra Modi and his government for failing to fulfill his promise of creating two-crore jobs every year which he made during previous elections.
“Modi had promised of creating two-crore jobs every year during the previous elections. By now he should’ve created 10 crore jobs in the country, but unfortunately only 20 lakh jobs were created during his five-year tenure” he was addressing a election campaign organised by the leaders of JD(S) and Congress near the office of Dasarahalli MLA R Manjunath here in Dasarahalli.
Krishna Byre Gowda added “Modi who asks the youth to make ‘Pakodas’ has also hiked the prices of gas cylinders from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1000/- making the lives of common man more miserable” he said while adding that Modi who calls himself a ‘Chowkidar’ (watchman) must have been able to save the soldiers who died in Pulwama, if he was the Chowkidar in true sense.
“Hundreds of small businesses lost its ground by the move of Prime Minister" he said while speaking of demonetization.
“Pakistan was defeated in war in the past as well. 92000 soldiers of Pakistan surrendered to Indian Army during the term of Indira Gandhi, but neither she nor the Congress party ever used it for political gains. Modi having lost his mind to win the elections has used the sacrifices made by our armed forces to get political mileage” he further added.
Seeking support from the voters he said “I have been selected to contest from this seat, so I need your blessing in the face of votes. Earlier, former PM HD Devegowda was to contest from the seat, but the alliance leader zeroed in on me”.
Dasarahalli MLA R Manjunath also spoke at the campaign rally and said that no BJP leader in the state stands eligible for seeking vote on the basis of his performance and development and instead, they were relying on the Modi’s name to seek votes. He said “Many people in the state and in the constituency don’t know the fact that DV Sadanand Gowda was a union minister. Such miserable has been their connect with the people. So there is no point in voting him back once again this time”.
Congress leader Dr BL Shankar and former MP C Narayanaswamy were also present at the event along with several leaders of JD(S) and Congress.
