Kumaraswamy elected JD(S)LP leader
Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) Legislature Party (JDLP) on Thursday unanimously elected party's State president H.D. Kumaraswamy as the legislature party leader.
Informing this to media persons at a private hotel, party's senior MLA GT Devegowda said that I am grateful to the people of the state, my party workers, and BSP's activists. The result did not give us happiness. BJP did not win 104 seats through the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party's efforts. BJP lacks eight MLAs for the government formation. Some MLAs of my party are being offered with Rs. 100 crore and a cabinet post, "he said.

Minor girl kidnapped and raped; main accused and two cafe owners held
Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
