Shivamogga, May 28: The official website of the Kuvempu University was reportedly hacked on Monday by a hacker group. After hacking the website, a message was posted saying ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

According to university sources, the website was in good condition till Sunday night. But on Monday morning, university vice chancellor Prof Jogan Shankar received a message about the hacking. Suddenly, he alerted the technical team of the university which restored the website after half an hour efforts. Now the website is available for public use.

After hacking the website, the hackers have posted a message which reads “whatever the security you have made, we will defy it. Pakistan Zindabad..” The university’s technical team has removed the message.

Normally, the hackers, once they hacked the website, would demand money to restore it. Otherwise, they would steal the data from the website and destroy software. But the hackers did not do that.

Complaint lodged

Prof Jogan Shankar said that the university has lodged a complaint with the Cyber crime police. As soon as the technical team noticed the hack, they have restored it. But as of now, there is no clue on the hackers. But truth will only come out after police investigation. Hackers have not demanded money and no data was stolen, he clarified.
