Speaking at the Congress Parivartana Convention held at Dr. BR Ambedkar Stadium in Chamarajanagar, he said that Indira Gandhi had contested from Karnataka and become the first woman Prime Minister of the country. Sonia Gandhi had also contested from here. If Rahul Gandhi wants to contest from South India, then he will be invited to contest from Karnataka, Dinesh Gundu Rao said.
Speaking at the occasion, Siddaramiah asked, "Is it only the BJP which has taken the responsibility of the country's safety? Did not Narendra Modi know that It was Indira Gandhi who managed to save the country from Bangladesh's attack?" he said.

Chamarajanagar: The MM Hills police have arrested a woman for allegedly selling illegal ganja to visitors and tourists atop the Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur Taluk here.
The arrested accused has been identified as Bhagya (40), a resident of the area.
Acting on specific information regarding the illegal sale of ganja, the raid was conducted under the guidance of Chamarajanagar Superintendent of Police Dr. B. T. Kavita and Kollegala Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhamendra. The operation was led by MM Hills Police Station Inspector Jagadish.

During the raid, the police seized 230 grams of ganja allegedly procured by the accused for sale. A case has been registered, and the accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Sub-Inspector Jayaram, staff members Siddaramaiah, Ramesh, Mahesh, and Shivamurthy participated in the raid.
