Madikeri: Taking quick action in the case of the murder of four members of a family in Balangadu, Begur village, Ponnampet, on Friday, the Kodagu district police arrested the murder accused within six hours of the crime.
The officers in the Special Investigation Team arrested the accused, identified as Girish, in Thalappuzha in Kerala.
Girish, who is learned to be a native of Kerala, had hacked to death his wife Nagi (30), daughter Kaveri (5), father-in-law Kariya (75) and mother-in-law Gauri (70) on Friday, using a sickle. He had fled from the site after committing the crime.

Hassan: Apparently upset over scoring less marks in the II PUC exams, a student reportedly ended his life by hanging in Arsikere taluk of Hassan district.
The deceased, identified as Manoj, was a student of Ananth International PU School in Arsikere town. Family members stated that he had expected more marks in the exam. The 18-year-old boy was frustrated after getting 474 marks and might have taken the extreme step, they added.
His parents were not at home when he took the extreme step.
