Bengaluru: After considering performances in the field of media during a meeting of members chaired by state media academy President M. Siddaraju, various media journalists have been selected for the Special Award of 2018, Lifetime Achievement and Media Annual Awards.
While the special award will carry Rs 50,000, the annual award will carry Rs 25,000 along with mementos. 51 journalists have been selected for the Academy Award for 2018.
Senior journalist Dharmavarapu Balaji has been selected for the special award for lifetime achievement. For the annual awards, Winston Kennedy (Varthabharathi), Abdul Khalik (Daily Passban), Aisha Khanam (DD), Prema Kumar Hariabbe (Prajavani), Vishwanath Suvarna (Photographer) have been chosen.

Belthangady: The family of late Ramlan Ajhari rebuilt the house of the late Ramlan Ajhari in a program held by Dakshina Kannada District Janiyyatul Muallimin in the premises of Kajur Perdadi Ajmer Khaja Juma Mosque on Thursday. The handover was performed by Khazi Shaikhuna Twakha Ahmed of South Kannada District, Musliyar.
District Janiyyatul Muallimeen President Shansuddin Darimi Pammale Madannur presided over the function. District Janiyatul Muallimeen Secretary Muhammad Navi Mundole welcomed the guests. On this occasion, Engineer Muhammad Twahir Bangerakatte was honored for building a neat house.
