Mysuru | Countdown to the World-Famous Jamboo Savari begins, thousands gather
Mysuru: The countdown for the renowned Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari has begun, drawing lakhs of visitors to the city. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will offer prayers at the Nandi Dwaja between 1:41 PM and 2:10 PM. Following this, the procession will be flagged off by the Chief Minister between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM during the auspicious Kumbha Lagna.
The elephant Abhimanyu will carry the 750-kg golden howdah with the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari through the streets. A seating arrangement for 40,000 people has been made inside the palace premises to witness the grand event. The Jamboo Savari will start from the palace and reach Bannimantapa by the evening. This year’s Dasara celebration is expected to be even grander, with lakhs of people arriving from various parts of the state, leading to a massive crowd.

Illegally stored gas cylinders seized
Thane (PTI): Authorities have seized illegally stored 1,839 gas cylinders and seven vehicles worth over Rs 67 lakh in the Dombivli MIDC area of Thane district, officials said on Saturday.
A special vigilance team of the Mumbai Rationing Department detected an illegal storage of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders in Phase-2 of Dombivli (East).
Cylinders belonging to multiple gas agencies were found stockpiled in closed vehicles, unauthorised warehouses, and open sheds without mandatory permissions from the Explosives Department, Fire Department, or oil companies, according to an official release.
