Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly declared cash prizes for informers on the four absconding accused in the case of the murder of BJP leader Praveen Nettaru.
The BJP leader was murdered by miscreants on motorbikes in Bellare village of Sullia taluk, Dakshina Kannada, on July 26. The four accused in the case are, however, absconding.
The NIA, which is investigating the case, has declared Rs 5 lakh each for information on Mohammad Mustafa S of Bellare and Tufail M H of Gaddige, Madikeri. It has also declared Rs 2 lakh for informers on the other two accused Umar Farooque M R of Kallumutlumane of Sullia and Aboobaker Siddik of Bellare, said sources.
The Agency has informed that all the four accused are members of the Popular Front of India (PFI).

The details of the informers will not be revealed, the NIA has assured.

Shivamogga: A leopard was killed after being hit by a motorcycle near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district.
According to reports, the biker was travelling from Shivamogga towards Thirthahalli when the leopard suddenly came onto the road from a nearby forest area near Mandagadde. The rider is said to have lost control of the bike and crashed into the animal.
The leopard suffered severe injuries in the impact and died on the spot. The biker also fell onto the road along with the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.
After receiving information about the incident, forest department officials, including Gajanur RFO Vinay Kumar, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
