Mysuru, October 10: Lashing out at MP Pratap Simha, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said that there was no need to give answers to those who create issues.
He was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Dasara Film Festival at Kalamandir here on Wednesday.
Expressing his ire over Pratap Simha for his statement to stop Tippu Jayanti and Mahisha Dasara, the CM said that he would not take any decision which will disturb the peace in the society. There was no need to give answer to those who make derogatory statements. There was no need to give much importance to such statements. “It is my responsibility to ensure law and order in the state. I know what to do and what not to do”, he said.
After Inaugurating the Dasara festival, he had mixed feelings about the present situation in the state. Some parts have received good rains, while other parts have been facing acute scarcity of rains. Some parts have experienced flood situation. So, he would pray the Goddess Chamundeshwari to bless the people of the state, he said.
On the conspicuous absence of Congress MP and MLAs from the programme, the Chief Minister said that all leaders have been cooperating for the success of the Dasara festival. Since the Lok Sabha by-election was announced, they might be busy in their works. Ministers Jayamala and Rajashekar Basavaraj Patil have attended the programme. Others would also join the team in future, he said.

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.
A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.
He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.
Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.
As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
