Bengaluru: A special court for people's representatives has ordered the issuance of a Non Bailable Warrant against MLA Anand Singh for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the 2018 Assembly elections.

A complaint was registered against the MLA at Hospet Town Police Station during the 2018-Assembly polls for violating the Model Code of Conduct. The police had later submitted a chargesheet in the court.

A special court for people's representatives, which was hearing the case, had summonced Anand Singh but he remained absent for three times. Subsequently, the judge ordered the issuance of a Non Bailable Warrant against Singh.

Chamarajanagar: The MM Hills police have arrested a woman for allegedly selling illegal ganja to visitors and tourists atop the Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur Taluk here.

The arrested accused has been identified as Bhagya (40), a resident of the area.

Acting on specific information regarding the illegal sale of ganja, the raid was conducted under the guidance of Chamarajanagar Superintendent of Police Dr. B. T. Kavita and Kollegala Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhamendra. The operation was led by MM Hills Police Station Inspector Jagadish.

During the raid, the police seized 230 grams of ganja allegedly procured by the accused for sale. A case has been registered, and the accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Sub-Inspector Jayaram, staff members Siddaramaiah, Ramesh, Mahesh, and Shivamurthy participated in the raid.
