Not interested in coalition govt; eyeing 123 seats in next elections: Kumaraswamy
Mysuru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has expressed confidence that the JD(S) will win 123 seats in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections and form the new government.
Addressing reporters on the Chamundi Hills in the city prior to the second day of the party’s state-level workshop on Thursday, Kumaraswamy said, “There is no idea of winning merely 30 to 40 seats and then joining hands with any other party to form the government.”
He also said, “Please do away with the notion that our legislators would agree for a coalition government.”
Kumaraswamy said that the party would come to power by getting more than 100 seats in the 2023 election in Karnataka. “We would be unable to fulfill the promises we make to the people if we form a coalition government by compromising with other parties,” he added.

Dharwad Corporation zonal offices raided after complaints of corruption in issuing land records
Hubballi: Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Friday conducted raids at multiple zonal offices of the Hubballi-Dharwad City Corporation following complaints alleging bribery and delay in issuing land-related documents, including e-Swathu records.
The raids were carried out in the morning under the leadership of Siddalingappa S.T.. Separate teams inspected 12 zonal offices of the Corporation and examined records linked to land ownership and document processing.
According to sources, the Lokayukta received complaints from members of the public alleging that Corporation officials were demanding bribes for issuing e-Swathu and other land documents.
Residents reportedly alleged that applications were being deliberately delayed if bribes were not paid.
Based on these complaints, officials carried out inspections of files and records connected to land ownership and issuance of documents.
Further investigation is underway.
