NWKRTC driver's body exhumed two months after he died allegedly of heart attack
Parents suspect cause of death to be unnatural
Dharwad: The body of a North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) bus driver, who had allegedly died of heart attack in November 2025, was exhumed in Bhadrapur village of Annigeri taluk on Wednesday, after his parents expressed suspicion regarding the cause of their son's death.
The driver, Babajaan Chinnooru (51), had died on November 11. As his family had reportedly believed that he had died of heart attack, no post-mortem examination had been conducted then and his funeral rites were completed in Bhadrapur.
Later, however, Chinnooru's parents allegedly developed suspicion about the cause of his death, especially after noticing the behaviour of their daughter-in-law Wahidabi. They approached the Superintendent of Police and complained that their son had been murdered, opining an eye on their property being one of the possible reasons for the act.
The officer got the body of the bus driver exhumed in the presence of the tahsildar and got a post-mortem examination conducted on it.
Police have said that the cause of Chinnooru's death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.

Vijay unable to prove majority, not invited for CM oath ceremony: Sources
Chennai: Actor-politician Vijay has reportedly not been invited to take oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after failing to demonstrate support from the required number of MLAs, sources in Raj Bhavan said.
According to media reports that quoted sources in the office of R.N. Ravi Arlekar, Vijay could not prove the backing of 118 legislators, the majority mark in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Despite last-minute efforts to secure support from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazagam (AMMK), and an IUML legislator, Vijay reportedly managed support from only 116 MLAs, falling short by two members.
Sources said Vijay failed to submit letters of support from the VCK and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).
Later, the IUML issued a statement clarifying that it was not part of the TVK-led alliance.
Meanwhile, AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran is also said to have informed the Governor that his party would support the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) instead.
Earlier in the evening, Vijay had met Governor Arlekar and staked claim to form the government, stating that he enjoyed the support of 118 MLAs.
