Bengaluru, May 23: Soon after taking oath as the new Deputy Chief Minister in JDS-Congress coalition government which was formed today, Dr G Parameshwar tendered his resignation to the post of KPCC president.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Parameshwar said that he has written a letter to AICC president Rahul Gandhi. The KPCC would have a new president and AICC would select an able candidate to lead the Congress in the state. As he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister, he has to participate in all the government affairs. It will become difficult to manage two posts simultaneously, he said.

“The party has given me the chance to serve as KPCC president for a long time in the history of the state. I would thank all my leaders, party workers and others for their cooperation. Following the high command direction, I have resigned from the post. Shortly, the high command would appoint a new president to the party”, he said.
