Private bus falls into trench between Mysuru-Erode: two dead; 26 injured
Chamarajnagar: Two persons killed on the spot and 26 people seriously injured as the private bus they were travelling in fell into a 100 feet trench at Dimbam Ghat on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Erode residents Muttu and Guruswamy.
The incident occurred when the private bus was moving from Mysuru to Erode in Tamil Nadu. The RPS private bus fell into a deep trench when its driver lost control over the vehicle at the 26th cross of Dimbam Ghat in Tamil Nadu at around 8:30 pm on Friday.
The injured have been admitted to a Coimbatore Hospital in Tamil Nadu.
Satyamangalam police have registered a case regarding this.

Private bus overturns in Karnataka’s Shikaripur; 17 passengers injured

Shivamogga (PTI): Seventeen passengers were injured after a private bus overturned in Shikaripur town in the district on Monday, police said.
Of the injured, 15 sustained minor injuries, while two others suffered grievous ones, they said.
All the injured were shifted to hospitals and are stated to be out of danger, police added.
According to police, the incident occurred this morning when the bus had just entered Shikaripur town from Shivamogga.
The bus driver, in an attempt to avoid hitting a two-wheeler rider who came in its path, allegedly applied the brakes, following which the bus overturned, resulting in the accident.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, a senior police officer said.
With the help of locals who rushed to the spot immediately, the injured were taken to hospitals for treatment, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
