Mangaluru: All India Trade Union Congress, National General Secretary, Amarjeet Kaur on Saturday asserted that protesting and opposing the wrong and unconstitutional strategies and programs of government in not wrong and instead is the right given by the constitution of the country to its citizens.
Kaur was speaking at an event in Mangaluru on Saturday when she said that protesting and opposing against the government for the wrongs it is doing is a constitutional right and duty of the citizens of this country.
Referring to the Central Government’s latest stand that the state governments cannot refuse to implement the Citizenship Amendment Bill in their states, Kaur added that the bill and the motto with which it is being introduced were unconstitutional.
Kaur recalled how the labourers and working classes have played their role in country’s freedom movement and how it has time and again raised their voices and stood against the injustice, exploitation and inequality. She also urged the labourers and working class to realize the threat NRC and CAB poses to the secular fabric and the ever-declining economy of the country.
“The RBI clearly states that the financial and economic condition of the country are deteriorating, but the ruling government is hell bent upon working on issues connected with the emotions of the people and is constantly trying to divide people of the country,” Kaur added.
Kaur also alleged that the central government was ruling the country much like how the British ruled India before independence by dividing people and conspiring to break the secularism in the nation. She added that the situation in the country demanded strong fight back from the people and that there was no need to panic or be afraid of the prevailing scenarios.
