Bengaluru: In a scathing rebuke aimed at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Opposition leader R Ashok has urged him to abandon the notion that opposition voices can be quelled by mere arrogance.
Ashok, in a post on his personal ‘X’ account on Tuesday, criticized Siddaramaiah for using haughty language that reflected his character but failing to silence his critics. He vehemently stated, "Your arrogance cannot drown out my voice," addressing the CM.
Escalating the criticism, Ashok questioned Siddaramaiah's tactics of deflecting failures onto the central government. He compared tax allocations under different regimes, highlighting a higher state share during the NDA government as compared to the share during the UPA era.
Ashok also pointed out the Modi government's initiatives during the recent global energy crisis, crediting timely decisions for stabilizing fuel prices domestically despite global fluctuations. He criticized Siddaramaiah for what he called a failure to comprehend global economic dynamics and engaging primarily in retail politics.
Additionally, Ashok referenced significant excise duty reductions on petrol and diesel under the central government, stressing on recent cuts aimed at easing consumer burdens.
