New Delhi: Cong MP and former President of the party, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday congratulated Mallikarjun Kharge on being elected as the President of the grand old party.
Kharge earlier in the day became the first non-Gandhi family man to become the president of the Indian National Congress in over two decades.
Congratulating Kharge, Rahul Gandhi who is currently leading the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ said the president of Congress represents a democratic vision of India.

He further added that the vast experience of Kharge and his ideological commitment will serve the party well.
Earlier, before the results of the elections were announced Rahul Gandhi had replied “Obviously” when asked if he would be reporting to the new party president. He also added that the party president will decide what his role in the party would be.
“My role I am very clear Congress president will decide what my role is and how I will be deployed,” he said.

Hubballi: Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Friday conducted raids at multiple zonal offices of the Hubballi-Dharwad City Corporation following complaints alleging bribery and delay in issuing land-related documents, including e-Swathu records.
The raids were carried out in the morning under the leadership of Siddalingappa S.T.. Separate teams inspected 12 zonal offices of the Corporation and examined records linked to land ownership and document processing.
According to sources, the Lokayukta received complaints from members of the public alleging that Corporation officials were demanding bribes for issuing e-Swathu and other land documents.
Residents reportedly alleged that applications were being deliberately delayed if bribes were not paid.
Based on these complaints, officials carried out inspections of files and records connected to land ownership and issuance of documents.
Further investigation is underway.
