Bidar, May 3: AICC president Rahul Gandhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who waived of the loans to the tune of thousands of crores of 15 industrialists, for not waiving off the loans taken by the farmers in nationalized banks.

Speaking at Janasheervad rally at Aurad in Bidar on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had waived off over Rs 8,000 crore loans of farmers availed from cooperative banks. But Modi who recalls Basavanna is not following what he is saying. But he accompanied Yeddyurappa and four former ministers who have been to jail.  BJP is running its show on RSS ideology. But Congress ideology is inclusive, he said.

“Let Narendra Modi criticize me like anything. I would not criticize him personally. He is a prime minister for entire country and so as to me”, he said.

“As to why you are not speaking anything about Neerav Modi? How will you be so calm even after Neeerav Modi fled the country looting thousands of crores? Amith Shah son has involved in corruption. But being the Prime Minister, you have not spoken a single word about it”, he blasted.

Dalits are being killed in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat states. But Modi who speaks about Dr BR Ambedkar, is silent about these killings. Modi who speaks about ‘Bheti Bachao’, is keeping mum on BJP’s rape accused MLA and those who justify Katua rape incident. Why this grave silence, he asked.

ISLAMABAD: At least two more cases of poliovirus were reported in Pakistan, taking the number of infections to 52 so far this year, a report said on Friday.

“The Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health has confirmed the detection of two more wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) cases in Pakistan," an official statement said.

The fresh infections — a boy and a girl — were reported from the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

“Genetic sequencing of the samples collected from the children is underway," the statement read. Dera Ismail Khan, one of the seven polio-endemic districts of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has reported five polio cases so far this year.

Of the 52 cases in the country this year, 24 are from Balochistan, 13 from Sindh, 13 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and one each from Punjab and Islamabad.

There is no cure for polio. Only multiple doses of the oral polio vaccine and completion of the routine vaccination schedule for all children under the age of five can keep them protected.
