Bengaluru, September 11: Disappointed by the interference of Minister DK Shivakumar favouring MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar in the Belagavi district politics, Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi is said to have complained against DK Shivakumar and Hebbalkar to KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar.
Ramesh who met both the leaders apprised them of the recent developments in the district during the PLD Bank election and other issues and expressed his dissatisfaction against DK Shivakumar and Lakshmi Hebbalkar. After getting the complete details from Ramesh, both the leaders have promised him of solving the problem and advised him not to participate in any kind of activities which embarrass the state government and the party. It is said that both the leaders have convinced Ramesh Jarkiholi about the BJP’s strategies to gain the political advantage of differences at the time of Lok Sabha election in the state.
“I have discussed with the leaders to solve the problems in the district. I don’t have any resentment over the party. There was no clash regarding the PLD Bank election. It was just an incident and we have solved it among ourselves”, Ramesh said.
Speaking to reporters here, Ramesh Jarkiholi said that media has termed the development during the PLD Bank election as a humiliation to Jarkiholi brothers. But in the election, Lakshmi Hebbalkar does not have any role. Jamadar, Parashuram and others were their candidates. Lakshmi Hebbalkar has a single seat. Everything was happened as they have planned. If they were humiliated, they would have resigned there itself, he said.
When asked about meeting the Maharashtra minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi said that they have sugar factories in Maharashtra for which he has met him and spoken to him and there was nothing wrong in it.
“Hindutva politics is stronger in Belagavi. So, we need to field a winning candidate. Satish Jarkiholi is eligible to contest the Lok Sabha election from the Congress ticket. If he is not interested, I will contest. Otherwise, we have asked ticket to Vivek Rao Patil. Total three names were given to the party high command”.

They will be interrogated by the Goa Police in connection with the devastating fire at the nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, an official said.
A team of the Goa Police, along with the Luthra brothers, landed at the Manohar International Airport, Mopa, in North Goa at 10.45 am.

They are likely to be taken to the Anjuna police station for questioning. The accused will also be produced before a court in Mapusa town for their regular remand, the official said.
After the fire tragedy, the Anjuna police had registered a case against the Luthra brothers on various charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The Luthra brothers were arrested on Tuesday as soon as they landed in Delhi after being deported from Thailand. A court there allowed the Goa Police their two-day transit remand.
The duo had fled to Phuket (Thailand) early on December 7, hours after the fire at their nightclub, prompting the authorities to issue an Interpol Blue Corner Notice and cancel their passports.
They were detained by Thai authorities at Phuket on December 11 following a request from the Indian government, which later coordinated with officials in Thailand to deport them under legal treaties between the two nations.
Five managers and staff members have already been arrested by the Goa Police in connection with the fire.
