Chikmagalur: Karnataka Minister for Energy, Sunil Kumar on Monday called on the people to relocate the unnecessarily erected tomb from Datta Peeta to Nagenahalli in the wake of High Court's directives.

“In support of the High Court’s directive, I want to notify and say that the tombs that have been unnecessarily erected in Datta Peeta must be relocated to Nagenahalli and Hindus must be provided with the opportunity to perform Pooja there”

After visiting Datta Peeta on Monday, the Minister later spoke to the media and said, “The Dattatreya Peeta is different and the Dargah at Baba Budangiri is different. The records have proven this matter. The Court has directed that the poojas in Datta Peeta must be performed by Hindus. Muslims must open their eyes and see this. You can develop the Dargah at Nagenahalli”

“The former Siddaramaiah government had decided against Hindus concerning the Datta Peeta. It had conducted in an anti-Hindu manner by nominating the Mujawar. However, the Court has passed the judgment that Mujawar cannot perform Pooja in Datta Peeta now, only the Hindu priest must perform the Pooja. The government will take decisions supporting the sentiments of the Hindus”, he informed.
