Bengaluru: In a significant move towards promoting education accessibility, the Muslim Educational Institutions Federation (MEIF) announced on Sunday that a well-regarded university in Bengaluru has extended a generous offer of free seats to deserving, meritorious, and economically disadvantaged students.
The university's commendable initiative also includes the provision of free accommodation for the chosen scholarship recipients. The University will offer 30 free seats 21 seats in Engineering, 2 seats in Law and 7 seats degree courses.
"Students who have successfully completed their 12th Std or PUC from MEIF-affiliated PU Colleges, as well as those who have graduated from MEIF Schools and subsequently completed their 12th or PUC from other PU Colleges, are eligible to apply, provided they meet the income criteria," the press statement added
The MEIF has called upon all affiliated schools and colleges to widely circulate this information among their recently graduated students. Additionally, the institutions are requested to facilitate the application process for eligible students by submitting their applications, complete with the necessary attachments, to the Program Secretary of MEIF by the stipulated deadline of September 2nd, 2023.

Bhatkal: More than 50 per cent of the members elected to the executive committee of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem in its triennial elections are new faces, with a significant number of young members getting an opportunity in the organisation’s executive committee.
Polling for eight constituencies in different parts of Bhatkal was held on May 12, in which 24 members were elected. In addition, 20 members were elected unopposed from seven constituencies.
The keenest contest was witnessed in Constituency No. 14, where 10 candidates were in the fray for five seats.
With this, the process of electing members to the organisation’s 132-member executive council from Bhatkal and other regions has been completed.
Election Commissioner Mohiuddin Altaf Kharoori said the induction of a large number of new members into the executive committee has brought fresh enthusiasm to the organisation.
