Rotary Bangalore's 'MINDTREE THE RRRUN' marathon held
Bengaluru: Rotary Bangalore Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial held the fifth edition of 'MINDTREE THE RRRUN,' a marathon, on Sunday, February 23, 2020. 'MINDTREE THE RRRUN' was held to raise funds for various community service projects such as child education, school infrastructure build/ improvement, health awareness & healthcare for women, senior citizens, children, education assistance, school development, water and sanitation projects, and others.
The title sponsor for this event is Mindtree (an L&T Company), and Dairy Day Ice Cream.
5K Run and Medical partner SSNMC, a super specialty hospital, and other partners such as EssCee Enterprises, Synechron, Malu Wires and many other associate and support partners have contributed and partnered with Rotary Club Centennial of Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
The marathon began and ended up at Global Village in Rajarajeshwari Nagar and had 4 categories: Half Marathon and 10 kms, 5 kms and 3 kms (fun run and walk).
The Event was won by Daniel Langat ( Male 21k ), Archana K.M ( Female 21k ), Chengappa A.B ( Male 10k ) and Bimla Chand ( Female 10k).
The event was presided by Phaneesh Rao, Chief people officer of Mindtree, while District Governor of Rotary Sameer Hariani, Brand Ambassador Wanitha Ashok, Chairman of the RRRun Shyam Prasad and Co-Chairman Satish Madhavan were the chief guests.
The event had hundreds of families, corporate houses, technology professionals, professional runners and even hundreds of runners from the armed forces, all participating with lot of positive energy to achieve their personal best and the smiles on the finish line were symbolic of each participant’s triumph.

Karnataka: College student dies by suicide in Dharwad, 3 policemen suspended
Dharwad (Karnataka) (PTI): A college student allegedly died by suicide here, following which three policemen were suspended over allegations of harassment linked to his death by the victim's family.
Aditya Myageri, a BSc student at a private college here, was among 18 students detained by the Vidyagiri police on April 25 during an anti-drug drive, police said on Wednesday.
He hailed from Belur village in Bagalkot district, but was staying with his friends at a rented accommodation in Girinagar area of Dharwad city, police said.
Among the 18 students tested, Aditya was among the 10 who had tested negative for ganja consumption and was subsequently released.
Some of his roommates, however, tested positive.
According to police, Aditya's family alleged that despite testing negative, he was harassed by police. They also claimed some policemen demanded Rs 2,000 to settle the matter and threatened legal action if he failed to pay.
He had called his mother asking for money, but she could not arrange it immediately, the family claimed.
On Monday night, Aditya allegedly died by suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his rented accommodation, with his family alleging police harassment and pressure over demand for money drove him to the extreme step, a senior police officer said.
Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar told PTI that an unnatural death case has been registered at Vidyagiri police station. Three policemen have been suspended over the allegations, and further investigation is underway.
