Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed a preliminary chargesheet against former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, in connection with an alleged sex scandal. The chargesheet, which runs into 2,144 pages, has been submitted to the special court for elected representatives in Bengaluru. However, the court is yet to take cognizance of it.

The chargesheet includes statements from 150 witnesses and alleges that HD Revanna, who is also an MLA, sexually harassed a domestic help at his Holenarasipura residence over three years, starting in 2019. Prajwal Revanna is accused of raping the same woman at their Basavanagudi residence in Bengaluru. Additionally, Prajwal is charged with making video calls to the woman’s daughter, coercing her to undress while he captured images on his mobile phone.

The chargesheet also states that Prajwal attempted to destroy evidence by deleting the videos and photos, but the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was able to recover the deleted files from his phone.

The complainant, who is reportedly a distant relative of Bhavani Revanna, the wife of HD Revanna, was employed in the Revanna household in 2019. According to her, she was subjected to repeated sexual harassment by both father and son, and was discouraged by household staff from reporting the abuse. The FIR in the case was filed on April 28, 2024, with the Holenarasipura police, naming HD Revanna as accused number one and Prajwal Revanna as the second accused.
