Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police on Monday allowed five terminally ill kids to take charge as the City’s Police Commissioner in order to motivate them to overcome their critical medical conditions.
The move came after ‘Make a wish foundation’ approached Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao with the proposal to which he had immediately agreed.
Five children which included four boys and a girl arrived at the Commissioner’s office in uniform and were welcomed with guard of honour. They were then taken around the office and were allowed to sit on Commissioner’s chair. They also signed a few mock documents.
The children were also introduced to the dog squad and a mock weapon and handcuffs were also handed over to them for photo session.
Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said, "Make A Wish foundation wanted it to be a small event but we made it big. This will also empathise our force. We took them around the office and both the children and officers were happy. We gave them a guard of honor as is received by every police commissioner."
