Bengaluru: Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday remarked that the state has incurred an estimated loss of Rs. 32 thousand crores due to heavy rains and floods recently in various parts of the state.

He was speaking to the team of Central Government that has arrived in the state to take stock of the things in state after floods. The meeting was held at CM's home office on Tuesday.

Yediyurappa added that 103 Taluks of 22 Districts of the state were affected by severe floods and rains. He also asserted that the State Government was doing everything under its capacity for relief and rehabilitation work in the state and sought further assistance from the Centre.

The Centre's team is expected to submit a report to the Central Government on Wednesday.

CM also added that once the report will be submitted to the Centre, a team if cabinet ministers of the state will visit New Delhi and meet central leaders seeking aid from the government.

Johannesburg (AP): Nine people have died, and at least 10 others were wounded after a group of gunmen carried out a shooting at a South African pub during the early hours of Sunday, authorities said.

The incident occurred just before 1 am in the township of Bekkersdal, which is located 46 kilometres (28 miles) west of Johannesburg. It is the second mass shooting to happen in South Africa in three weeks.

About 12 unknown suspects in a white mini-bus and a silver sedan opened fire at pub patrons at KwaNoxolo tavern, in the Tambo section of Bekkersdal and continued to shoot randomly as they fled the scene, according to police.
