Supreme Court adjourns hearing of Karnataka MLAs till Thursday
New Delhi: Supreme Court on Wednesday began hearing the plea of disqualified Karnataka MLAs against their disqualification from the Karnataka Assembly.
After hearing the matter, the Apex Court adjourned the hearing till Thursday.
The 17 disqualified MLAs of Congress and JD(s) who resigned from the assembly were disqualified by the then speaker Ramesh Kumar after which they had knocked the doors of Supreme Court against the disqualification.
The Election Commission also announced the dates of by-polls in the 15 of the 17 assemblies represented by these MLAs. The polls in the constituencies will be held on October 21 and counting of votes will be done on October 24.
All the eyes are now on Supreme Court to see if the Apex Court allows the MLAs to contest the by-polls or not.

Over 105 flights cancelled, more than 450 services delayed due to fog at Delhi airport
New Delhi (PTI): More than 105 flights were cancelled and over 450 services delayed due to low-visibility conditions amid fog at the Delhi airport on Sunday.
An official said at least 55 arrivals and 52 departures were cancelled at the airport.
According to latest information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, more than 450 flights were delayed and the average delay time was around 36 minutes for departures at the airport.
In a post on X in the evening, Delhi airport operator DIAL said operations are running smoothly.
DIAL operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country's largest airport that generally handles around 1,300 flights daily.
Flight operations have been disrupted for the past many days in Delhi and other airports due to dense fog.
