Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for next four days, indicating heatwave conditions in isolated pockets over interior Karnataka. Coastal Karnataka is expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions from April 24 to 27.

During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 2-3°C across the state.

Subrahmanya: In a devastating incident, a young man lost his life after being struck by lightning in Subrahmanya, located in Kadaba taluk. The victim, identified as Somasundar, aged 34 and a resident of Parvatmukhi in Subrahmanya village, was tragically killed during Friday evening's thunderstorm.

The unfortunate event occurred as Somasundar was engaged in piling up nuts for drying at his residence. The atmosphere in Subrahmanya had become charged with wind and thunder before the onset of rain, leading to the fatal lightning strike.

Somasundar, who operated a car washing business Subrahmanya, had recently married, with his marriage taking place just 10 days prior to the tragic incident.

The deceased leaves behind grieving family members, including his mother, sister, and newlywed wife, mourning the untimely loss.
