Mysuru, Oct 05: "Avaravara Bhavakke," a literary work by progressive thinker Prakash Rai will be released in Mysuru on October 7.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said the book would be released by NSD Rangakarmi Sumati K.R, Nele Hinnale, Janamana Samskrutika Sanghatane, and Savanna Prakash at Manasa Gangotri's humanitarian hall at 5 pm on Sunday.
While literary critic O.L. Nagabhushana Swamy will release the book, renowned litterateur Devanur Mahadeva will receive its first copy. The executive editor of Prajavani Ravindra Bhatta will be the chief guest for the event. Meanwhile, three works of Prakash Rai will be released by writer C. Naganna, theatre personality Mandya Ramesh, NSD theatre personality Sumathi K.R.
Speaking at the occasion, Prakash Rai said “this is good work. I have previously written a book that I do not have. There is one difference in each other. This is the work for the entire society and is not limited to any particular class. Human values have been upheld in this book.”
Nele Hinnale’s Gopal Krishna, Narasimhamurthy of Janamana Samskrutika Sanghatane, Somashekhar and others were present.

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.
A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.
He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.
Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.
As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
