Bengaluru: The towing of vehicles parked in no-parking zones will resume shortly in Bengaluru, announced Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara. The operation will be carried out directly by the Bengaluru City Police and not through private contractors, he clarified.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Thursday, the Minister said that despite restrictions on certain roads, people continue to park their vehicles illegally, leading to traffic congestion. Public awareness campaigns have been conducted, yet the problem persists, he noted.
“This time, towing will be done entirely by Bengaluru City Police. No private agency will be given a contract,” he said, adding that roads are meant for movement, not for parking.
