Tumkur: The police in the wee hours of Tuesday fired at the accused in the murder of the Tumkur Municipal Corporation's former Mayor Ravikumar.
The police fired at the second accused in the case Mallesh, a resident of Madhugiri. The Kyathasandra police arrested Mallesh on Monday night. The police shot at him when he attacked men in Khaki and tried to escape.
Injured Mallesh, after preliminary treatment at the district hospital, was taken to Bengaluru's Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
The accused is said to have attempted to strangle constable Simon Viktor. The injured constable is admitted to Tumkur Government Hospital. SP Divyagopinath visited the spot and launched the investigation. so far, the police have arrested 10 accused in the Ravikumar murder case.
Mallesh nabbed from bus stand in Andhra Pradesh
The police arrested Mallesh from a bus stop in Andhra Pradesh. He was being brought to Tumkur via Madugiri route. At around 1 am on Monday, near Koratagere taluk Biladar Road, the accused said that he had to answer nature's call. When the head constable Simon Victor escorted Mallesh for the need, he attempted to strangle the head constable with the chain and tried to escape. Immediately, the cops opened fire at him and successfully arrested.
Police authorities Inspector Ramakrishnaiah, Raghavendra and constable Mohan participated in the operation.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will operate 1000 additional special services in view of the Christmas festival.
In addition to the existing schedule, the special services will run on 19.12.2025, 20.12.2025 and 24.12.2025. Further, special buses will be operated from various places of intra & Interstate places to Bengaluru on 26.12.2025 & 28.12.2025.
Special buses will be exclusively operated from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubbali, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places.

Special buses from Mysuru Road Bus Station will be exclusively operated towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, Madikeri.
The corporation has also announced a discount of 5 per cent on the fare if four or more passengers book tickets under a single reservation. A discount of 10 per cent will be extended on return journey tickets if onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously.
In addition to the above, special buses will be operated from all Taluk/District Bus Stands in the jurisdiction of KSRTC based on the traffic needs.
