Tumakuru: Villagers of Bugudanahalli in Turuvekere taluk locked the local government junior primary school in protest after two teachers engaged in a public fight in front of students. The incident, involving teachers Mallikarjun and Raju, who allegedly fought and abused each other, has sparked outrage among parents and the villagers.

The school, which has only nine students, has been the centre of concern due to the frequent disputes between the two teachers. Despite previous interventions, including written apologies from both teachers, the situation escalated on Friday when they physically fought over a minor issue, causing distress among the children.

The school management board, led by President Shivraj and members Manjunath and Nagaraj, took action on Saturday by locking the school and demanding the immediate suspension of both teachers.

The vilalgers expressed their frustration and said that the teachers' behavior is detrimental to the students' education and future.

Siddalingegowda, founder of the World Human Rights Service Centre, has called on district education authorities to enforce strict disciplinary measures under Civil Service Rules against the teachers, as well as to address complaints against other officials who haven't acted against tbe teachers inspite of complaints against them.

Hyderabad (PTI): The promising Angkrish Raghuvanshi (59) made a well-paced fifty as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in their IPL match here on Sunday.

Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (43) and Raghuvanshi added 84 runs for the second wicket as KKR overhauled SRH’s under-par 165 all out with ease.

Finn Allen made an aggressive 29 off 13 balls upfront to give KKR a brisk start.

Earlier, Travis Head made a belligerent 61 off 28 balls but KKR's spinners bowled well to restrict SRH to 165.
