Bengaluru, May 31: Depressed over the death of her husband TV anchor Chandan in a road accident a week before in Davangere, his wife Veena reportedly killed their son Tushar (13) by slitting his throat before trying to commit suicide by consuming acid, in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Now, Veena (38) is in a critical condition and currently undergoing treatment at Victoria hospital. They were residing in Someshwara extension in Doddaballapur.

Chandan was working as a host in a Television channel. He was died in the road accident that took place near Davangere on May 24. With his death, Veena and Tushar were shocked. Unable to come out of the pain of her husband’s death, Veena has decided to commit suicide. Before killing herself, she wanted to kill her son Tushar by slitting his throat. After killing her son, she consumed acid to kill herself. But as usual, the school has come to pick up Tushar. Noticing that the door was locked, the bus attender pushed the door and the news came to light. Later, Veena was admitted to the hospital and Doddaballapur police registered a case.

Johannesburg, Nov 15: India beat South Africa by 135 runs in the fourth and final T20 International to clinch series 3-1 here on Friday.

Opting to bat, India posted a massive 283 for 1, thanks to unbeaten centuries from Tilak Varma (120 not out off 47 balls) and Sanju Samson (109 not out off 56 balls), and then bowled South Africa out for 148 in 18.2 overs.

Tristan Stubbs top-scored for South Africa with 46 while David Miller contributed 36.

For India, pacer Arshdeep Singh was the most successful bowler with figures of 3/20 while Varun Chakravarthy (2/42) and Axar Patel (2/6) got two wickets each.

Hardik Pandya, Ramandeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi got a wicket each.
