Chikkamagaluru: In a reported road accident two people including a young girl died when a KSRTC bus collided with an truck here at Sakhar village in Kador Taluk of Chikkamagaluru District on late Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as truck driver Saravana (40), a resident of Shivmoga and bus passenger Ruchita (22), a resident of Belur Taluk. Six others including a seven year old child has sustained severe injuries in the accident.

According to the reports the KSRTC bus collided with the truck which was parked at the National Highway 173 after it ran out of fuel. Truck driver Saravana was reportedly filling the fuel in the tank using a can when the bus hit the truck. Saravana sustained head injuries and died on the spot, while bus passenger Ruchita who was sitting in the front row of the bus also sustained injuries and died.

The injured were rushed to Chikkamagaluru District Hospital for initial treatment and were later taken to a hospital in Shivmoga for further treatment

A case has been registered at Sakaraya Pattana Police Station.

New Delhi (PTI): More than 105 flights were cancelled and over 450 services delayed due to low-visibility conditions amid fog at the Delhi airport on Sunday.

An official said at least 55 arrivals and 52 departures were cancelled at the airport.

According to latest information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, more than 450 flights were delayed and the average delay time was around 36 minutes for departures at the airport.

In a post on X in the evening, Delhi airport operator DIAL said operations are running smoothly.

DIAL operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country's largest airport that generally handles around 1,300 flights daily.

Flight operations have been disrupted for the past many days in Delhi and other airports due to dense fog.
