Bengaluru, June 8: After the formation of the coalition government and new ministers took oath, several names of senior Congress leaders are floating for the KPCC chief position. Most importantly, the names of BK Hariprasad and Dinesh Gundu Rao have hit the headings.
After the humiliating defeat in the Assembly election, the Congress needs an efficient leadership to lead the party in the state. Already, many names are doing rounds for the post. MB Patil who was denied ministerial berth is also said to be in the race for the post. But sources in the party said that Patil had rejected the offer of the KPCC president’s post earlier.
Amidst this, some of the party leaders have informed the party high command that BK Hariprasad is the most suitable person for the post. “I am committed to the party decision. I am ready to take up any responsibility given to me”, Hariprasad said.
When asked, Hariprasad told Varthabharati that he would follow what the party directs him. Within a week, something will be known. If the party gave him the KPCC president’s post, he was ready to take up
the responsibility, he said.
Apart from Hariprasad, the name of Dinesh Gundu Rao is also doing round. The dust will be settled within a week, sources said.

Pune, Nov 16: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis continued to raise the pitch on "vote jihad" by playing a video of Islamic scholar Sajjad Nomani at a poll rally in Pune's Bhosari area on Saturday.
It is being said that a person who votes for the BJP must be ostracised, Fadnavis claimed.
"If these people are trying to do vote jihad, if they are saying they will destabilise the government through vote jihad, then you will also have to do dharmayudh of votes," Fadnavis said.
"If these people dream that they will come to power with the help of votes from one community in the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, then you will also have to come to the battlefield," he said in a swipe at the MVA.
