Bengaluru: Under the Suddaguntepalya police station limits, a woman was allegedly molested and robbed by an intruder inside a paying guest (PG) accommodation here on Friday according to a report by India Today.
According to the building's CCTV footage, a man enters the building and is eventually chased away by a lady. The FIR states that the intruder allegedly groped the woman while she was sleeping and when she resisted, he stole ₹2,500 from her room before fleeing.
Police said a case has been registered at Suddaguntepalya police station. Efforts are underway to trace the accused.
In a separate incident reported last month, the owner of a PG facility was accused of raping a college student in Bengaluru. The accused who was identified as Ashraf, had allegedly forced the woman into his car late at night, drove her to a secluded location and assaulted her, according to her complaint.
“On August 3, a young woman filed a complaint of rape against the owner of the PG where she was staying. She stated that when she refused to accompany him, he forcibly took her in his car and raped her in a nearby area,” police sources said. An FIR was registered and Ashraf was arrested.

Medininagar (PTI): A couple and their 18-year-old son were allegedly hacked to death over suspicion of practising witchcraft in Jharkhand's Palamu, police said on Sunday.
Their minor daughter was also injured in the attack late on Saturday, a police officer said.
The bodies were recovered from their house on Sunday in Panki police station area, he said.
“Initial investigation suggests that the case is related to witchcraft suspicion,” Manoj Kumar Jha, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Lesliganj told PTI.
A manhunt is on to nab the culprits, Jha said.
The girl suffered severe injuries and has been admitted to a government hospital, he said.
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Bhuiyan (45), his wife Kalia Devi (40), and their son Chotu Bhuiyan.
The bodies have been sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) for post-mortem examination.
