Bengaluru: The PRS Legislative Research, which is an independent, not – for – profit institution looking into Legislative and Policies issues, has arranged a two and half a day comprehensive National Workshop for Karnataka Legislators on Education Challenges and Opportunities at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy from August 28 to 31 in New Delhi.

“Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has evinced keen interest on the subject and has officially nominated two legislators each from Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress and Janata Dal (Secular)” an official statement added.

The nominated legislators who will take part in the workshop are Sunill Kumar from Karkala, Rajkumar Patil Telkur from Sedam, Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar from Khanapur, Anand Siddu Nyamagouda from Jamkhandi, Dr. K. Srinivasa Murthy from Nelamangala and  Devendra Chowhan from Nagatana.

“They have been nominated to enable them to enrich their knowledge on education as education is the prime instrument which moulds the character and personality of an individual” the statement added.

“The Workshop will give participating Legislators practical ideas for making quality interventions in State Legislatures.  In addition, it will serve as an opportunity for members to meet and engage with academics, sector experts, and Legislators from other States” it further added.

The PRS Legislative Research has been providing research support to the Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assemblies for the past 14 years.

New Delhi (PTI): A total of 97 flights were cancelled and over 200 delayed due to low visibility conditions amid fog at the Delhi airport on Sunday.

An official said 48 arrivals and 49 departures were cancelled at the airport.

According to latest information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, more than 200 flights were delayed and the average delay time was around 23 minutes for departures at the airport.

In a post on X at noon, Delhi airport operator DIAL said operations are running smoothly.

DIAL operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country's largest airport that generally handles around 1,300 flights daily.

Flight operations have been disrupted for the past many days at Delhi and other airports due to dense fog.
