Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP President BS Yeddyurappa on Saturday credited the tactics and strategies used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the release of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. He was addressing party workers on Saturday here.

He said that measures and tactics used by Narendra Modi led to international isolation of Pakistan which eventually led to the release of IAF officer who was held captive by Pakistan Army since Wednesday.

He was released on Friday in what the Pakistan termed as the ‘Peace Gesture’.

Yeddyurappa further added that it was for the first time in 40 years that Indian forces crossed the LOC and attack terrorist camps across the border. He also added that the forces were given complete freedom to carry out the attacks and avenge Pulwama.

Yeddyurappa’s statement comes days after his earlier statement that stirred controversy, where he said that the Pulwama attack and the IAF air strike will help BJP win 22 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections.
